I always loved drawing, even before I was two. I grew up into 50’s and 60’s car type. You know the silver type on the side of old cars? I liked to pull those off and collect them. I built stuff out of the trash around my grandparent’s house. Their yard was filled with trash & car parts and that’s where I found my first bit of inspiration. On a muddy hill top, covered in trash, I saw beauty in the faded, rusted, unloved things lying around. I saw a lot of things growing up that weren't appropriate for a little one, but I used art as a distraction. Dang, that was a good choice!
I have been a graphic designer for the past 23 years. I have two degrees, a b.f.a. and a.a.s both with a concentration in graphic design.
My inspiration these days can be found in beloved heirloom flower garden. I made it out of trash, I have collected over the years. My darling Meg and I go on long, wandering drives so she can photograph and I can look for junk or rare wildflowers… we pick up rocks, bricks and other cool, usually very heavy stuff that we find on the side of the road to build that wonderful garden of mine. When I’m not working, I’m hanging out with friends and family, cooking, eating, hiking, or traveling. Otherwise, I’m gardening, drawing, or sleeping extremely soundly. I’m into self care and not being too busy. I go to therapy and love working on my life. I work hard to be content in this world. It’s an amazing, & wonder filled journey for me.
I live in east west Asheville with my best friend & wife, Meg. We plan on living happily ever after in our sweet little green hillside bungalow.
I’d love to hear about you, your life, & your branding project. I care a lot about myself, my family, my friends, my community & my clients. I adore what I do. I take on projects, where I can help regular folks, do extraordinary things. If this sounds good, let’s go have a coffee, or tea, or ice cream and discuss your next move.
